Bengaluru International Airport is well-served by the city's public transport agency – the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).The BMTC came into existence in 1997, and is today the only bus corporation in Bangalore to ferry over 4 million commuters. Its fleet of over 5,593 buses cover a radius of 36 kilometres from the city centre, providing public transport to the city and its suburbs.
