TRANSPORTATION - TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT

1) Where is the new Bengaluru International Airport located?

The Bengaluru International Airport is located 35km North of Bangalore city centre(MG Road)and off National Highway 7 (Bangalore-Hyderabad Highway)

2) How do I get there?

You have multiple options to reach the Airport: a) Regular, air-conditioned BMTC bus services (Non-AC services are also available) operate from 12 different points in the city at a frequency of 30 minutes. These services are available round the clock and all buses have adequate baggage storage space.

b) Easy Cabs & Meru Cabs are professional taxi services operating to and from Bengaluru International Airport. These dedicated Airport Taxi services are post paid.
If you are a passenger wishing to go to the Airport, you can call the following All India Call Centre numbers given below:

For an arriving passenger, taxis wait on the inner curb right in front of the terminal building as well as the designated taxi area round the clock. There is no need to purchase a voucher. You can pay at the end of the journey based on the metered fare. The rate for taxi service is Rs. 15 per km, plus waiting charge @ Rs. 60 per hour. Indicative rate to MG Road is Rs. 600.
c) Apart from the airport taxi service, passengers can also rent premium cars. This service is provided by Hertz and Akbar Travels.

Cars with drivers as well as self-driven cars are available. Indicative rate upto 25 km: Rs. 1200 (eg. Innova, Honda City)
d) Passengers can also avail of General Taxi services to/from the Airport

3) Can I get directions to the Airport?

Please ask for directions to Hebbal and from there take the Bangalore-Hyderabad NH7.

4) Are auto rickshaws allowed into the Airport?

Auto rickshaws can drop off passengers at the entrance to the Trumpet Flyover on NH7, connecting Bangalore to the Airport. Auto rickshaws are not allowed beyond the Trumpet Flyover. A Shuttle Bus Service starting from the Trumpet Flyover to the Airport Terminal Building can be availed of at Rs. 10

5) Are helicopter services available and what are the charges?

PARKING FACILITIES

6) What are the parking charges?

The Bengaluru International Airport provides space for parking 2000 vehicles. The various categories of parking available are:
• Long Term Parking (Regular) : Rs 60 every 4 hours : Rs 300/- for the first day (24 hours) : Rs 200 for every additional day
• General Parking : Rs 60 for the first 2 hours : Rs 30 for every additional hour
• Drop-off and Pick-up Area: No charges for the first 10 minutes : Rs 80 for every additional 30 minutes
• Premium Pick-up Area : Rs 80 for the first 30 minutes : Rs 80 for every additional 30 minutes
• Valet Service: Rs 150 for the service : Valet parking charge is as per the rates charged for Long Term Parking
Valet Parking Pick-up: To avail the Valet Parking Pick-up service, you will have to produce the token (acquired while using the valet car drop-off) at the pre-designated area.
Other parking arrangements are as follows:
• Pick-up Area: Exclusive 10 minutes free for customers who would like to quickly pick-up passengers. To avoid any inconvenience to other passengers, kindly clear the area as quickly as possible. Besides, waiting beyond 10 minutes will attract fee
• Premium Pick-up Area: Located right in front of the Arrival Hall, this is the closest parking area in front of the Terminal
• Long-term Parking and General Parking: All parking areas are linked with the curbside pedestrian walkways. The easiest access is through the main walkway in the middle of the parking area, fully covered with a canopy.

7) Can I park my own car for a day trip?

Yes, you can at the Long Term Parking facility and you can also avail of the Valet Parking service.
The rates for Long Term Parking (Regular): Rs 300/- for the first day (24 hours) and Rs 200 for every additional day. The rates for Valet services are Rs.150 for the service and parking as per the rates charged.

8) I would like to come to the Airport on my two-wheeler. Are two-wheelers allowed? Is there parking available?

Yes, you can come to the Airport on your two-wheeler. There is a two-wheeler parking facility at Rs. 20/-

9) What are the charges for visitors & greeters to enter the Terminal Building?

The Entry is Rs. 80 per visitor .Visitor entry tickets can be purchased at the curbside for entry to the Arrival Hall.

10) What are the F&B and shopping options?

11) Where do I go for help if I lose my baggage?

Cases of baggage lost on arrival at the Airport will have to be reported to the respective airlines at the “baggage services” centre in the Arrival Hall. 14) What is UDF?

It is the User Development Fee charged towards construction & operation of the Airport and approved by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

15) What are the Check in facilities?

The Check in hall has 53 Check in counters and 18 self check in kiosks. There is no separate Pre Check in baggage screening and Check-in baggage is simply to be handed over at the Check-in counters.

16) What is the Check-in baggage limit?

You need to check with your airline for the limit.

17) What are the Airport Tax/User Development Fee (UDF) charges?
A User Development Fee of Rs. 1070/- is charged for outbound international travellers and Rs. 260/- for outbound domestic travellers. The UDF is already included with the ticket.

19) Are there any special services for disabled persons?

Yes, on reaching the airport, they will have access to a separate lane which is closest to the Terminal Building. This can be accessed on request. In case they require any wheelchair assistance, they can get in touch with the respective airline. The airline will also assist with airport processes.

20) Can I get any assistance/porter service at the airport?

Yes, you can use our porter service. Porters are available on the curbside, or you can ask the parking assistant for a porter.
Rates: Rs. 70 is the minimum charge for up to 3 bags. Rs. 25/- will be charged for every additional bag. For group baggage (12 bags), Rs. 250 is charged. Do not tip.
