Infrastructure at Airport City

The ‘Airport City’ will provide employment opportunities for approximately 100,000 qualified employees. The development will be supported by world-class infrastructure.

The airport city will be accessed by a ringed network transport system consisting wide three lane roads, dedicated perimeter bus lanes with bus stand located at strategic points with over bridge / underpass pedestrian connections. There will be adequate open and covered parking within the airport city premises for over 40,000 cars. Threee stations of the high-speed rail link as well as various bus stations ensure an ideal public connectivity for the full campus.

The airport city will receive approximately 6.5 million litres of potable water per day for its consumption in its final phase. There will be a four-day reservoir dedicated for the Airport and airport city operations. A centralized sewage treatment plant based on Sequential Batch Reactor principal has been planned for a waste treatment capacity of approximately 13,000 cu.m/ day in its final phase. Storm water drains have been designed for a 1 in 50 years rainfall storm event.

Approximately 200MW of power will be consumed in the airport city in its final phase. A captive 220KV sub-station providing underground distribution at 11KV with step down transformers has been designed to meet the required energy demand.

The Airport City will also be supported with state of the art fiber optic connectivity for its telecommunication and IT needs. There will be multiple service providers for a wide range of services including LAN, Wi-Fi, VSAT, broadband etc.
