GV Sanjay Reddy was appointed Managing Director (MD) of BIAL on April 9th, 2010. Apart from holding multiple positions and playing a key management role in the Hyderabad based GVK; he is also the MD of Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd (MIAL). He was instrumental in the implementation of GVK’s pioneering forays in the infrastructure sector having envisioned landmark projects across power, road and airports. With the backing of GVK’s experience and expertise in infrastructure development, GV Sanjay Reddy spearheads BIAL’s expansion phase that has been put on fast track.

Marcel Hungerbuehler is the President of BIAL and took charge of the company as the CEO on February 1st, 2009. Prior to this, he was part of BIAL’s management team as the company’s COO for two years. He was instrumental in the start-up process and the operations of the Bengaluru International Airport. During his 40 years in the aviation industry, Marcel has held various high level management positions including Swissair and Swissport. An aviation all-rounder, he has held positions in various functions in operations and sales and marketing. He was Swissair’s Area Manager Singapore, Malaysia & Indonesia, District Manager UK & Ireland and Area Manager Asia and Middle East. Before moving to Bangalore, Marcel Hungerbuehler was Head of Swissport Zurich, the largest Ground Handling Company at Zurich Airport. In his role as the President of BIAL, Marcel directs the functions of Operations, Commercial and Engineering & Maintenance.

Hari Marar is the Director - Operations of BIAL and is responsible for the entire operations of the Bengaluru International Airport. He joined BIAL in September 2006 as the Head of Daily Operations. Hari Marar has been a part of the core team that successfully operationalized the airport project. He was instrumental in defining the operational concept of the airport and in building up the team to ensure its operational readiness.

Hari Marar brings with him a wealth of experience from over fifteen years that he has spent in service industries that include hospitality, airlines and airports across Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore.

Bhaskar Bodapati is the Director – Finance of BIAL and came on board in May 2010. He is responsible for the Financial and Accounting functions of the airport. Bhaskar comes to BIAL with over 26 years of finance expertise.

Bhaskar was earlier associated with a leading Global conglomerate in the health care equipment and devices space as Group Chief Finance Officer of Opto Circuits India Limited. In addition he is a recipient of Best value creator award instituted by Money & NDTV for 2006-07.

A chartered accountant of the 1987 Batch, from the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India, 5th Batch Management trainee from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Additionally, Bhaskar has worked on diverse assignments in the aerospace industry that included a stint at the Indian High commission in London for three years.

David Frei is the VP – Engineering & Maintenance of Bangalore International Airport Limited. He came on board in April 2010 and is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the entire infrastructure at the airport.

David Frei studied architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Berne, Switzerland. He is also the holder of an Executive MBA on International Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Berne and completed additional studies in economics and management at the same University. David started is professional career as an architect in Burgdorf, in the Canton of Berne, back in 1995. In 2001 he joined Unique, Zurich Airport as Head Terminal Engineering and stayed on till 2005. His last assignment was with Implenia Global Solutions Ltd. as Manager Business Development.

Manisha Grover is the VP - Commercial of Bangalore International Airport Limited. She came onboard in June 2008 and is responsible for the commercial business at the airport.

Manisha has over 14 years of experience and joined us from Jones Lang LaSalle India where she was Joint Managing Director – Strategic Consulting. She administered a team of over seventy consultants and researchers on a pan India basis, to deliver valuations and advisory services to clients. During the course of her eight year tenure, she played a key role to grow their advisory, valuations and research business in India.

Manisha has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Masters degree in Finance from the University of Delhi.
